How To Prevent or Stop Heart Palpitations
ByIntroduction
After 8 years of research, I’m updating my report to include new and improved protocols and recommendations for those wishing to stop experiencing these frightening heart palpitations! I had hoped to have the material by mid June but I missed that deadline. However, in the past few weeks, I’ve received so many emails from visitors that I dropped everything to get this material up. Forgive typos for now… I’ll fix them over the next few days! lol…
I know how you feel. There is nothing quite like suffering palpitations (except maybe dying). Palp sufferers get to experience dying-like symptoms sometimes several times a day! What this does to your body and your psychic is terrible. If you are like I was, you might even reach a time when you are afraid to leave the house. This nasty ailment can threaten your job! You become afraid to exert yourself and you avoid robust activities.
Well, I may have good news for you. But I must first say that you will need to have an open mind. I am going to say some things that might go against every bit of training you’ve had. In the end however, you should know that life is truly a paradox. Nothing is ever what it seems.
Disclaimer
The first order of business is to get our disclaimer in. You must understand that while 37 years of phyto-nutritional study provides me with a ton of information and data to work with, and while it gives me a significant research advantage over most doctors, it DOES NOT MAKE ME A DOCTOR! Before you try to copy my personal regimen and apply it to your own situation, you must consult with your doctor. In about 3% of cases, palpitations are caused by physical defects in our bodies. Those defects can only be fix by a qualified and trained doctor. Those defects include such things as a prolapsed mitral valve or defective purkinje fibers. We need to rule that out before anything else.
Why Your Doctor Doesn’t Know This Stuff
This is where your mind gets bent. It may shock you to know that traditional medicine today is not concerned about you getting well. Everything on the planet is about money. Follow the money. There is no money in healthy people. The money is in the sick. Big Pharma and the large multinational chemical companies are depending upon you sticking to the plan. They’ve been training you since birth to stay on the plan. Those who deviate from the plan are hammered. The Japanese say, “the nail that sticks out, gets hammered in!” I won’t waste a bunch of time explaining this right now. If you want to see more, go to my other blog Boomer’s Nest and watch the videos on the right side. Nuff said.
So, What’s The Cause of My Palps After My Doc Says There’s Nothing Wrong?
Western diets are loaded with foods that promote excess acidity in our systems. When we drink tap water – or even worse – Desani or Aquafina bottled water, we are getting water that is acidic (pH 5.5). Your body, being the amazing machine it is, will always counteract the acid by taking minerals from your bones to “buffer” the acid. Over the long haul, this will lead you to things like IBS, Lupus, Fibromyalgia, osteoporosis, arthritis, and many more diseases…including cancer! Once again, this whole area is discussed in detail on Boomer’s Nest.
If you drink cola/soda (Coke, Pepsi, Dr. Pepper, Sprite, 7-Up and others…) then you are drinking fluid that is pH 2.5. The only thing you can do that is worse than this is drink battery acid or take pharmaceutical drugs. One can of Coke will require you to drink 32 eight ounce glasses of high alkaline water just to neutralize the damage from that one Coke!
And … The Culprit Is?
Inflammation! Excess acidity, or chronic acidosis, triggers a state of dysbiosis in our bodies that leads to hormonal and endocrine imbalances that cascade out of control over time. Inflammation is the bodies first response to trauma. Even stress can cause acidosis that leads to inflammation. So with stress and diet teaming up, we have a problem. In all of us, the vagus nerve transverses the body from the base of the brain stem to the groin. In many cases, the pericardium or “heart sac” becomes inflamed. When this inflammation sets in, the heart sac and many other ancillary organ support mechanisms are affected. The vagus nerve and the phrenic nerve appear to be the most affected by the increased inflammation and pressure. I believe they are at the root of the palp triggering mechanism.
Some people will find that when they lay on their left sides when going to bed at night, they will get palpitations within about three to five minutes. This is a sure sign that your V&P nerves are involved. Others will bring on palps simply by bending over in the shower to pick up the soap! Another way to bring them on is to consume something really cold like a cold water or beer.
Doctors, of course, will see your issue as a symptom to be masked. They’ll offer a array of blockers. I was given Rhythmol. It made me feel awful. After a week I dropped the stuff and decided to find my own fix. It took me a few years, but bit by bit I found most of the “risk factors” for palpitations.
Nick’s List of Risk Factors for Palpitations
- Mercury – from amalgam fillings or vaccines
- Toxic foods and drink
- Fish of all kinds – they contain too much mercury
- Fish Oils – all fish oils!
- Refined Sugar
- Fructose
- Aspartame
- Iodine deficiency
- Hyper Acidosis
What I Did To Rid myself of Palpitations Forever
I joined dozens of “health blog” and chatted with people all over the world who suffered palpitations. I databased their lifestyles, diets, physical typing, environment and supplement intake. I began studying several hours per day at the US National Library of Medicine and the Duke Phyto Nutritional Database.
My first breakthrough happened in 2004 when I was chatting with a fellow by the name of George on the Irish Health blog. George had made some significant headway with ALOE GEL. I went to the Duke database and discovered that many of the same ingredients that are in IMMODIUM are also in Aloe Gel. DO NOT CONFUSE THIS WITH ALOE JUICE. THEY ARE TOTALLY DIFFERENT!
I started experimenting with Aloe Gel and was blown away by the response. Aloe gel is highly alkalizing. It works in the stomach to alkalize an overly acidic environment. The effect of aloe gel on inflammation was profound. At first, I drank one ounce of aloe gel twice a day. One ounce at breakfast and one ounce about an hour after dinner. My palpitations went from several a day to two a week!
Next I cut out all fish and fish oils and I stopped consuming all sugar. No candy, no pop, no pastries and donuts. And no aspartame ever! This is one of the most dangerous chemicals on the planet.
After about two months, I was down to one palp per month. I cut my aloe gel back to just one ounce per day. Today, several years later, I take it maybe once per week. The gel I used was Lilly of the Dessert Brand. I believe it is available at all GNC stores plus most good health food stores.
I almost forgot to mention that I had may amalgam fillings taken out too. They give off mercury vapors all day long. Your dentist might argue this, but if he does, he’s uneducated. I also started to floss every day. The bacteria that grow between the teeth are huge factors affecting your heart. keep those teeth clean! Side note: Cutting down on sugar helps because those bacteria live off the sugar you eat.
Today to maintain my strong alkalinity and to be totally free of palps, my routine includes some supplementation as follows:
- Nutrex – Natural Spirulina, 500 mg, 400 tablets
- Source Naturals Broken Cell Wall Chlorella, Pure Micro-Algae, 500mg, 200 Tablets (Pack of 2)
- ZeoForce – 400 g – Powder
- TruNature Tonalin CLA – Conjugated Linoleic Acid – 180 Softgels
- Nutrex Hawaii BioAstin Natural Astaxanthin 4mgs., 120 gel caps
- Nutiva Organic Hempseed Oil, 24-Ounce Bottle
- Vega Antioxidant EFA Oil Blend By Sequel – 8.5 Ounces
- Lily Of The Desert – Aloe Vera Gel Whole Leaf, 32 fl oz gel
Summary
For a quick start to end or slow down my palpitations so that I could live again… I got hold of ALOE GEL and drank an ounce of it twice per day. Immediate relief was noticed. That gave me the comfort to continue studying. Over the years, I narrowed down the risk factors to the nutritional aspects that I have outlined. I am not saying it will be your answer too. I did get an email from an NHL player and a fighter from UFC. Both of them cured their palps within a week. I’ve hear similar results from people in Egypt, South Africa, England, France, Canada, and Russia.
If you are suffering, I wish you the best of luck finding your fix. If you want to talk about it, I have all the time in the world for you. No one should ever have to go through this.
I get much of my stuff from Amazon. They ship fast and are totally reliable. I’ve listed all of the stuff except the Bentonite below on the Amazon site.

Content like this is a good example of properly written informational material It’s easy to read and the points are stated in an intelligent way.
Thank you for a great post.
So… I found this herbal mixture product that Boosts the transmission as well as keeps the inhaling and exhaling going, This addresses the root trigger so you don’t make a rapid breathing as well as drag the loose tissue to the air passage, The stuff is known as Anti snoring Alleviation and that i purchase it from Nature’s Ceremony, I’ve been using it with regard to 4 many it really is great, So you don’t have to use CPAP, I just wanted to let you know.

Vimax,
You make a good point. It will be done.
I thought fish oil is very good for you? I was told that fish oil tablets can stop heart palps. I still get palpitations, racing heart and missed beats. I am too afraid to go anywhere now!
I have had ecg’s and all that, all came back with good results? I might cut down the fish oil and see how it goes, i will give aloe vera a go also.
Man this sucks!!
Most fish oil comes from fish that have too much mercury in them. Use Astaxanthin as your source of fish oil. Also, use Sequel brand EFA Oil Blend. There is a link to it on Amazon on this site. And make sure it is not just aloe vera. Some people get confused and buy aloe juice. This is not the same thing as Aloe Gel! It must be Aloe Gel! I use Lilly of the Desert Brand Aloe Gel. Works like a charm. I know palps are bad. You feel like you are going to die all the time. You can beat it. But if your eating habits are acid western foods, then you won’t get rid if them. It all comes down to how badly you want them gone. When was the last time you drank a pop? You need to alkalize… or you’ll have to live with what you create.
Hey Rob,
Sorry I missed this earlier.. .but you could switch to “astaxanthin” which is the worlds most abundant source of natural antioxidant fish oil. It is not polluted as the deeper fish are. Google the stuff and you’ll see. You can even squeeze a capsule into your regular olive oil to make it last longer without going rancid.
Another great oil is made by Sequel. Called EFA Oil. This is not my site, but they have some good comments about it.

Take care.
I have been suffering from tachycardia for the past 3 years. One can only imagine how this impacts your life. Your right when you say nobody should go through this. Not only are you feeling a fast heartbeat most of your day but the anxiety that is making your heart beat so fast. That anxiety is what makes the suffering so horrific. Your article has given me hope and I started taking the aloe vera gel. It’s funny how priceless health really is in this world. I hope everyone realizes that.
You are so right on! Someone once said that man is the only species that will spend his whole life (and health) in pursuit of money, then right and the end he’ll spend all his money to get his health back! Are we stupid!
I had tachycardia too. It was atrial fibrillation. 220 beats per minute for four hours once. I think I slept for 6 hours after than one.
Inflammation leads to palps and that triggers anxiety because we think we are dying. And all of THAT trigger atrial fibrillation. You can beat this. It takes many months of reduced attacks before one’s mind gets that we are going to be ok. For me a trick was to get mad at the attacks. Psychological responses typically begin with surprise, then fear, then anxiety, then either psychosis or anger – depending upon your mental state. I chose to go right to “pissed off”. Of course being Irish helps tremendously.
We have to distance ourselves from mercury (in teeth, in vaccines, in fish, in fish oil, etc…) and from fluorine and chlorine in water. Also refined sugar is very very bad. If you can get hold of some organic KALE, that stuff is outstanding for helping to alkalize you. It is a very powerful antioxidant.
All the best to you…
Nick.
Great site, am glad i stumbled upon it. I am intrigued to read about the acid stuff as I started having palps about two years ago, from out of nowhere!! Went to Doc, he chked bp & heart, I was ok. 23 Sept. this year ended up in A & E thought I was having a stroke/heart attack, got palps and other stuff driving home from work. Loads of tests, ecg, xrays, bloods etc. All clear, blamed stress. Even though I don’t feel stressed I still suffer from palps. But, as I sit here having a glass of wine … plenty of acid & blah sugar it seems worth a try to cut it out!! (which I have about two of five nights a week). Thanks. As I don’t eat fish, maybe once a month, don’t take vitamins or drink fizzy drinks & drink alot of water seems might be the problem, either that or the lattes as I’ve heard caffine ain’t good for palps either. Cheers. Ellen
Hi Ellen,
I’m blown away by the sheer number of us that suffer from this. I no longer do, but I get a ton of email from all over the world from people who do. It seems that doctors really just don’t see enough business in this market to fix things. That’s why I trotted off to find my own cure.
Doctors always blame the “usual suspects” – Coffee, stress, anxiety, overweight, underweight and more. All have that is a waste of air. I’ve found that for most of us the key is in the connection between the digestive tract and the heart. There are a pile of things that influence that relationship, but if you want a real fast relief, here’s what you do.
Go to your best local health food store and find “Lily of the Dessert” brand ALOE GEL. Get an 8 ounce bottler – cost is about $9. Drink one ounce of ALOE GEL three times a day for a week. Then cut back to once a day, then only as needed. Please – DO NOT CONFUSE ALOE GEL WITH ALOE JUICE! 90% of those I speak with for some reason don’t get that I am talking about ALOE GEL! I must be a crappy communicator I guess. Lol
Just Google the stuff and you’ll find it. I’ve been to the US Patent office and I have seen that there are at least two pharmaceutical companies trying to patent the active ingredients in aloe gel. They know full well the implications for this product. If they are ever successful, they will then pay off state legislators to force health food stores to stop carrying the real stuff!
I am at least four years clear now.
You know the feeling… It leads to all kinds of other issues. Fear of exercising. Fear of going to work. Fear of going out at all! It’s life ruining… so get rid of it asap.
And keep in touch. I want to know how you’re doing!
Nick.
Very good read, I have been suffering from palps for almost 2 years and they are off and on some much worse than others! I get bad ones after exercising for long periods of time, but I am in great shape! After a long day of physical work I will get them every minute or two for up to an hour! Also I get them in pressure situations, for example I coach football and call the plays so sometimes I get nervous and my heart will skip multiple times. Do you think everything you have suggested will help that too? Thank you, I’ll do anything to fix this!
From what you describe, you are like I was. The key is to keep the alkalinity up and the inflammation down. I eat a lot of raw Kale now too and that helps.
But the best thing I did was drink high alkaline water. I put hunzana ph drops in all of my water and it helps to alkalize me in an environment where good alkaline food is hard to get. If you go out and get some Aloe Gel or Aloe Gel caps and take them three times a day, you should notice a big improvement too. But if you drink a lot of pop/soda, nothing you can do will help you. You’ll just get worse over the years.
Nick.
I been having heart palpitations for about a little over a year now and I used to have about only total 3 a year. About two months ago i started having about once or twice a day. I found your website and tried to follow your advice and got some aloe gel and juice from Lily of the Desert. Fortunately they did make some difference for I have only taken it for 2 weeks so far. However I have a question. The aloe I take only contains the inner filet, not the whole leaf. According to Lily of the Desert’s website there is very little difference between their inner filet juice and gel. The only difference is that they a thickening substance to turn the juice into gel. I even called a representative from their company to confirm. However you say that there is a big difference. Please help! Thank you
Yes… there is a huge difference. One of the best Phytochemical and Ethnobotanical databases on the planet is the “Duke Database”. The plant we are talking about is the Aloe barbadensis. If you do a search for “aloe vera” you will see the long list of indications. This is a fairly lengthy topic. We could branch off here with a major discussion. Forgive me in advance if this is to long. But you did ask! When you scroll through the list of chemicals in aloe, you will see why it is indicated so widely through history. Aloe Juice is a derivative mostly of the leaf and could cause diarrhea, vomiting and nausea if you take too much. Lilly of the Desert brand is the only brand I trust and I buy the gel by the gallon. It is the best.
You will notice that the aloe plant also has urea in the leaf. This, I believe is at the root of the research that Dr. Stanislav Burzynski is doing on his formula for antineoplastins. He has the highest cure rate for cancer any where on the planet. This is whey the FDA want to shut him down. If he’s successful, big pharma will lose billions.
They key to you stopping palpitations permanently is to get yourself more alkaline. Aloe is only a temporary measure to get you some relief. Ideally, you want to be in a position of not needing it!
If you look at the duke database, you will see that there is a difference between the leaf and in the inner plant. These companies don’t always do the research they should. I know one MLM company that used to sell a health drink with ctiric acid and sodium benzoate in it. That combination forms BENZINE – a highly carcinogenic combination. They put carageenan in it to thicken it. Oh well… can’t get perfect, but the stuff sure works. You can also get aloe gel caps. They are pretty good too. And they are cheap.

Thank you for your help, I really appreciate it. I don’t want to sound redundant but does it mean the inner filet gel is better than the inner filet juice? Just to confirm. Also does aloe vera gel work well with kidneys, because I have CKD. Thanks a lot for all your helpful info, it sure helped me a lot!
Aloe does a lot of things. But for our purpose – heart palpitations – it is the alkaline stomach calming effect of the inner fillet gel that does the trick. The inner fillet juice is more of a purgative or laxative.
When you say CKD, you are referring to chronic kidney disease correct? What are the doctors prescribing? What do they say? Any anti-inflammatory is good for the body. It is what we fight the most in our lives and is what leads to the most disease.
When you say laxative, do you mean like the latex or aloin in the leaf because I heard that’s the bad part; or does it mean something else? I read some articles saying that part of the outer leaf contains latex or aloin that can be very bad for my kidney. According to them, the gel is supposed to be good for the kidney. Yes I meant chronic kidney disease and the doctors didn’t prescribe anything because I already have low-blood pressure and the medicine would make my blood pressure even lower.
The JUICE has a laxative effect. I can’t speak to where they get the juice constituents. I just know that the GEL is the best when you need inflammation control. They are right about the Gel. It is likely due to the highly anti-inflammatory properties of the Gel. If you show your doctor the Lilly of the Desert label for the Gel, he’ll be able to advise you.
Hi,
I am 26 and have gone into atrial fibbrilation twice about 2 months ago. SInce then I have been getting palps somewhat regularly and they scare me when these episodes occur. Also, two weeks after the a-fib episodes, I almost collapsed in my shower and was the cause of vestibular neuritis. I have been home sick with this virus for the past 6 weeks now. Do you think the virus in my body could have caused both the a-fib and inner ear vestibular neuritis? I also had extremely low testosterone- it was 257 and should be 600+ for my age.
I fear doing much exercise because I tried a week ago and i started getting palps with my fast heart rhythm. Is my heart just still more tender or sensitive now since I recenlty had the a-fib episode and i’ve been sitting home for 6 weeks not doing much cause of the vestibular dysfunction? What do you make of all of this? I’ve had all EKG, Electrocardiogram, xrays, brain mri, etc and all came OK.
Also, are you suggesting we try the “inner filter” aloe gel or the “whole leaf” aloe gel? Please clarify. I’m desperate for anything. I want my life back!
Great site. I hope you can guide me to a healthy heart.
Rob
Hi Robert,
You have an interesting story. What you have is very common among those that I’ve talked with in regard to this palpitation issue. Bear in mind that I am not a doctor! I am just a guy who had the same issues as you. All I can do is relate to yo what I did, and what my brother and a few others I know did to permanently fix their issues.
You’ll note that on the WEB-MD site for “Vestibular Neuritis” they indicate inflammation as the root cause. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhealth/PMH0002049/
The viruses cause an inflammatory reaction that triggers histamine. Therefore, they talk about anti-histamine. My approach was that it is much more than simple inflammation. It is system wide inflammation that pressures the heart – or more likely the pericardium – to interfere with heart rhythm.
The aloe I use is Lilly of the Desert brand Aloe Gel, and it is the INNER FILLET. Here is a link to them: http://www.lilyofthedesert.com/our_products/item/inner-fillet-aloe-vera-gel/20
But there is no magic pill here. You will have to do much more than just take aloe gel. You need to address a few things. One being that you are chronically acidic – leading to all this inflammation. The medical system might love you since you are growing up to be the perfect little consumer of their drugs. But I am here to tell you that this is not a nice lifestyle if you opt to let big pharma be your saviour.
When I had the viral infection, I used Wild Oil of Oregano (P73) to kill the infection. That stuff works fantastic! I used the pill format and took two a day for 10 days. That is all I needed to get me off my puffers. I had been on puffers for 8 years prior to that.
After you kill the infection, you need to get alkalized. You need to put lemon in your water or get ph drops. You need to eat very dark green veggies. I steam KALE three times a week. Sometimes I just eat a raw KALE salad.
Other supplements I take to stay alkaline are:
- Spirulina
- Chlorella
- L-Arginine
- Trace Minerals (Concentrace)
I try to avoid all sodas/pop, and acid forming foods. If I am going to eat an acidic food, I take aloe gel first. Very likely you system is in dysbiosis. You are not producing the correct enzymes to carry out the normal bodily functions. If you opt to “take a pill” to increase testosterone artificially, then there is a consequence. We don’t know how that will manifest in your body. I always opt for the natural methods. Your body wants to make the right stuff, but it is being blocked. Find the block and remove it.
My guess is that if you got rid of your virus, then lowered your inflammation, and then got good exercise and stayed away from acidic foods, your testosterone would naturally climb. You can take saw palmetto as a herb to affect it if you want, but I think your body will do the work itself. It goes without saying that if you are wearing tight underwear like “briefs” your testicular temperature will affect testosterone production too. Also, you are low in cholesterol, that will affect it. Cholesterol is not a bad thing, like they want us to believe. It is good. But that is a whole other article!
Regarding the testosterone – It if is too low, it is so because something is inhibiting the formation of testosterone.
Hi Max,
Great info! I get palps a few times a year and they last anywhere from several minutes to more than an hour. Your suggestions seem to decrease the frequency of palps, which I plan to follow. Have you found anything to stop an ongoing “attack” once it starts? Does the aloe gel (or anything else that you’ve found) have an immediate effect?
Thanks!
Once you follow the regimen, you will find that they just hardly ever come around again. However, we all like to endulge our favorite foods and some times cheat a bit. If you feel one coming on, you need be very aware of your chest. The microsecond that you feel one coming, take a very quick medium-deep breath as fast as you can. It is like getting the air into your lungs in record time. Do two or three of these, then on a fourth breath, hold it for a few seconds and let it out slowly. These are not full lungs full of air… just half full. If that doesn’t catch it in time, I’ve often taken TWO extra strength GAS-X gel caps. Lay down on a bed and in abut 10 minutes you’re good to go. That was my little trick… and it worked for a few others that I’ve talked with about this.
Take care!
Hi
Thank you for such an informative site. I have been doing so much research on heart palpitations because I am at my wits end and doctors can’t seem to give me an answer.
My palps started 3 years ago during my 2nd pregnancy. I was taking a pregnancy vitamin supplement during my first trimester and my palps started with it. doctors did some tests and came back with nothing. they said it may have been a sensitivity to the ingredients in the vitamin and it would stop in a few weeks…… but it never did. I was getting palps every fews days but they got worse over time. now I skip a beat/ have an extra beat every minute along with several bouts of tachycardia during the day (more so at night). it has been this way for a while now and Ive had enough. Ive noticed they seem to be worse when lying down at night and wake me during my sleep if im lying down or after I eat. so Ive resorted to sleeping upright as I dont notice them as much and have tried to cut back to 1-2 meals a day so I dont have to feel the thumping of my heart and palps afterwards. I dont smoke or drink alcohol, I dont eat sugar, and dont drink soda/sugary drinks. I drink alot of water (tap filtered) and 3 coffee’s a day. Im only 26 yrs old and I want my life back. Ive avoided doing alot of things that make my palps worse. I have polycystic ovarian disease and have spoken to other women with the same condition to see if they suffer from palps too. alot do. could extra weight and insulin resistance be a factor in this? forunately for me I dont suffer from insulin problems with my PCOD but my hormones are severely out of order. not sure if hormones play a part in Palps though.
The information you have posted makes alot of sense though! I cant seem to find ALOE GEL (I live in australia) at health food stores, but I have read that lemon water, apple cider vinegar, baking soda and watermelon will alkalize the body. have you heard of this aswell?I will keep searching for the aloe gel but I would like to know of any other remedies that actually work. I tried backstrap molasses and potassium supplements but that did nothing.
also is organic fruit and vegetables helpful?
having palpitations every minute of the day is affecting my well being, I feel so run down. Ive had enough with putting up with the palps and want some sort of normal in my life. I know alot of people can go their whole life with suffering from it but I dont want to be one of them.
any feedback would be much appreciated
kind regards
Angie
Hey I was wondering what the best way to consume the gel is? Do you mix it with anything and what helps it go down the smoothest? Thank you
For some it is not that pleasant to drink. I used to just dump an ounce or so in my orange juice. With the pulp and strong flavor of orange, you just don’t notice the gel. You only need the stuff for the first few weeks until palps get under control. After that, a good alkaline diet will keep you there.
my Fish Oil says “purified to remove Mercury”, is this still not safe??
thank you.
If they are filtering the oil, then this is good. It is likely safe. I’d be interested in the brand and where they are located. I like to call these people and talk with their scientists. I would like to know what process they use to remove the mercury. It seems to me that if they are doing this, then the pills must be really expensive!
We have other factors to consider too. Just when we thought we were getting rid of mercury, the idiots in suites decided to persuade the population to use COMPACT FLORESCENT LIGHTBULBS! CFL’s contain mercury. Now there is more mercury in landfills than ever before. That mercury leeches in the water tables and … well.. you can image. We have a mess.
We need to take away the right to manage from people with degrees. They are hopelessly out of touch and behind the times when it comes to understanding the current research.
hey Max, my fish oil is by a company called “NATURE MADE” out of Mission Hills, California.

i’ve been using Nature Made products for over 10 years, i’ve never had any complaints, high quality stuff.
their website is- http://www.NatureMade.com
thanks.
Yes.. I agree. They have been a good company for a long time. They do their best to deliver the highest quality product always.
that should have said- high quality “STUFF”. not “tuff”. lol
Good catch! Fixed…
i suffered congestive heart failure in 2003,
ever since then my heart has gotten better, my last ejection fraction was 50/51%.
but Sunday the 18th i had something unusual happen,
ever since my CHF i’ve always had palpitations/PVC’s, they might come once a week, they might come 2-3-4 times a week, then i can go a full week and not have one, so i’ve just accepted it, its no big deal,
but Sunday the 18th as i was sitting at my computer i started having one continuous PVC, it scared me to death, i got up and walked around, it went away, i went to eat, about and hour later i took a nap, when i woke up from the nap i went back to my computer, again continuous PVC’s started happening, this time worse, i was getting short of breath, i thought i was going into CHF, i had my dad take me to emergency, the Doctor confirmed my PVC’s and kept me overnite to do more tests the next day, so i had a stress test where they inject a medicine to stress your heart, a CTscan, an echocardiogram, ALL NORMAL, no ischemia, no blockage, i was STUNNED, what the heck caused this? since 2003 i never experienced this.
then today i took my supplements.
these i’ve taken for over 10 years, so i dont think they are the culprit:
NOW Acidophilus
Nature Made 250mg Magnesium
Twinlab Vitamin-C 1000mg
Twinlab Daily One without iron
————————————————-
these are suspect
Jarrow Curcumin 95%
Healthy Origins Astaxanthin
^^^^ after i took all these within an hour/hour and a half MY PVC’s STARTED AGAIN, what the heck???
i’ve come to the conclusion it must be the Curcumin or the Astaxanthin
because the other things i’ve taken for over 10 years with no problems,
so tomorrow i’m gonna skip the Curcumin and Astaxanthin to narrow things down, if the PVC’s continue then it could be the Magnesium?
BUT, Magnesium is supposed to help the heart, and i take a low dose, just 250mg, and in my multivitamin there is only 7.2mg of Magnesium, so i know i’m not taking too much,
i was reading up on contraindications about Astaxanthin and i think it might be the culprit, the literature said that if you’re taking a supplent with VitaminA/Lutein/then Astaxanthin will INCREASE those compounds in your body, and it can lower your blood pressure, well i already take a beta-blocker and an anti-hypertensive.
i dont know, but its weird how the PVC’s started coming back after i took that stuff, ya know?
so it has to be something i’m taking,
any thoughts?
Wow… This really sucks I know. I always felt as though I was dying. Eventually I got mad at it and that’s when I started to make some progress. The issue is inflammation. But astaxanthin and curcumin are powerful antioxidants. How old are you?
One thing you haven’t mentioned is water. Humans are supposed to be 70% water. Most people with these symptoms test out at about 49% water. Dehydrated people nearly always report that “I’m not a big water drinker…” or something similar. Water is critical. When your hyrdration level is 49% then all other chemicals in your body are more concentrated. This is why doctors are always saying things like … your cholesterol is too high.. or your xyz hormone is to high… etc. In fact, they are not high, it’s just that your water is too low. You should be drinking 2 litres of water per day that is at least pH 7.5.
You need to get your body in shape to have lower blood pressure without pharmaceutical drugs! 50% of people over age 60 are on a minimum of 8 major medications!
Do you consume refined sugar? Candy? Muffins or donuts? Milk? All of that is very bad. The sugar feeds the bacterial that create inflammation. In women that often translates to yeast infections.
Do you consume dark greens? Kale, Broccoli? Kale if fantastic! Steamed… with butter! Yum.
With this health issue, you can’t be partly on the right track. You are either on it or not on it. IF you are not on it, you suffer palps or pvc etc.
Daily – I take: Spirulina, Chlorella, celery seed extract, Vitamin D3, CoQ10, Lutein, L-Arginine, liquid kelp (iodine) and Nature’s Way “Alive” whole food vitamin. But I’m 56… I need help! Lol…
That said, I have zero health issues and I’m as strong as a bull. My resting pulse is 46. My blood pressure is 118 / 66 (used to be 145 / 95). I am carrying a few more pounds than I need, but I’m working on that!
Max i’m not a big candy/sugar/muffins/donuts/milk user.
i RARELY eat stuff like that, MAYBE once a month, if that.
but i drink Almond Milk, instead of cows milk, and i use the sugar free Almond Milk.
i also take 200mg of Jarrow CoQ10 a day. for over 10 years now.(forgot that one).
as far as water, i drink about 4-5 20oz glasses per day.
i walk on my treadmill 5 times a week for 30 minutes at a time.
i also forgot to mention that i found out Curcumin/Turmeric is very high in Potassium, and the anti-hypertensive i’m on is a potassium sparing medication, and i know excess levels of potassium can set your heart out of whack and cause palpitations and flutterings.
i guess i’m gonna have to experiment and see if by not taking these certain supplements if they go away, if not then i’ll have to reasess and go to a process of elimination.
it sucks because i’ve been doing GREAT for so long now, and just out of the blue this crap happens to me, its frustrating and breaks your positive attitude, but this time i wont let it, gotta stay positive and just focus on finding out a solution.
i’m also gonna try the Aloe you suggested, see if that helps.
You are very diligent! Most people aren’t as focused on this as you. Kudos! Potassium does cause lots of issues for many people. My own grandmother has to nearly avoid potassium completely. She couldn’t even eat bananas.
I would definitely drop back on potassium.
If Aloe Gel works on you, then you know for sure that it is related to your digestive tract. You are certainly getting enough water. Have you tested the pH of the water? If it is tap water, it could be acidic? ie Lower than pH 7. If that were the case, then all you are doing is drinking a few liters of acid per day. This wouldn’t be good.
Has your doctor has checked for a prolapsed mitral valve? Usually they rule that one out first.
I had atrial fib at age 37. Started with horrible stomach cramps and several trips to the bathroom. Thinking I just had an upset stomach. Then when I blacked out I had my children call EMS. By the time I was at hospital my heart rate had reached 220 bpm and nothing was bringing it down. No meds and no restrictions. Eighteen months later it happened again. This time woke me from my sleep with a bad stomach ache and soon realized I was in A-Fib. This time it was about 3 hours after I had a couple of alcoholic drinks. After in ER for 5 hours I was released to see my doctor and he cardio-verted me. Now I was told to stay away from caffenine and alcohol. Also taking very low dose, 10mg of a Beta blocker. Now get palpatations. I have always drank a lot of water and usually 1 drink a day with aspartame. I am now 40 yrs old and have not had caffenine or alcohol for 2 years. (Miss the adult beverage, not the caffenine). Each time I had atrial-fib I was low on potassium. So now I eat more banannas and when I feel palpatations I take a potassium supplement. I was told the low potassium could cause the a-fib. Now I am questioning if I should take the potassium. Don’t know if my palpatations are severe enough to warrant the Aloe Gel. But will do the lemon in my water. Any thoughts for me?
Wow.. Jamie. Your situation is so much like many of us. Mine was almost exactly like that. 220 beats per minute is NOT FUN! They didn’t invert me, but they came close. Seeing those paddles was enough for me. No thanks! One thing is for sure. You know your heart is strong! At 220 bpm for any length of time, it takes a lot of strength. This is a good thing. What you are experiencing is the slow and chronic move toward acidosis. You absolutely must eat more alkaline foods if you want to be ok.
Aloe gel is just a quick fix. Doing that offers rapid relief and lets you get some sleep. I regularly email my friends around the world who have written to discuss this topic and we compare notes. Recently – like in the last two weeks – I discovered another natural supplement that really works well! It is Celery Seed Extract. I take the pill form. The brand I’m testing is “Natural Factors” Celery Seed Extract 85% 3nB. Historically, celery seed extract is a very effective blood pressure regulator. A hypertensive friend of mine locally tested this stuff and in 8 days he went from a bp of 145/100 down to 120/66. I am finding that I feel much more relaxed and I sleep very well with this stuff. One of my favorite foods for keeping the inflammation down though is Kale. Seriously… find some and try it. Steam it for 15 minutes then put butter and sea salt on it. Yummy.
You will beat this if you want to. It just a matter of taking the steps.
Thanks for your response. I am so glad I found your website.
